I was really lucky to be the parent chaperone for my daughter’s team as they had some tremendous experiences at the AFC Toronto match against Ottawa on July 10.
It’s always fun to be behind the scenes and see how everything gets put together. The events team and staff for AFC Toronto at York Lions Stadium was on point!
They were friendly but firm with the girls (and the other teams getting to be flag bearers, ball girls, and walk out with the players).
I forgot to grab every name, but props to Fahada and Jaimie who helped me organize the group event ahead of the game as well as being on site managing (to the other two amazing ladies, forgive me for not writing down your names).
Also, props to all the parents, the team managers, and of course our coach for their efforts in making it happen.
The evening was lovely, the food selections at the stadium were very good, including wood fired fresh made pizza, korean barbecue, a selection of Jamaican delights, and much, much more.
As for the game, AFC Toronto won three nothing, our team got autographs and some selfies afterwards (I don’t have those to share LOL), and now have memories to last a lifetime.
Here’s a gallery and a short video with some choice shots from the game.
