The info you need to know, including dates and start times, plus where to watch her compete
In case you haven’t heard, Bracebridge swimmer Mary Jibbs is in Paris to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games.
The 17-year-old Jibb, who trains at the Muskoka Aquatic Club, will be competing in four events including the 100 m backstroke, 100 m freestyle, 200 m individual medley, and 100 m butterfly. Below we have the dates/times and how to watch the Paralympic Games.
According to the Canadian Paralympic profile, in 2024 Jibb made a spectacular international debut at the World Series event in Indianapolis. She won the bronze medal in the open SM9 100m breaststroke and in the youth events took gold in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley. She also set a Canadian record in the 50 butterfly.
A few weeks later she solidified her nomination to her first Paralympic Games team at the Para swimming Paralympic Games Trials in Toronto.
As a young child, Jibb suffered a left basal ganglia stroke with focal vasculitis in 2012 which left her with physical impairments.

Community Support
On August 29, members of the community in Bracebridge gathered for a special celebration at Santa’s Village to recognize Jibb.
A large group of family and friends gathered with their bright red Canada Paralympic T-shirts to show their love and support to Mary. She is the daughter of Sgt. Darcy Jibb, OPP Bracebridge and her mother, Jennifer Jibb.
In addition to the many participating in this special shoutout for Mary, were members of the Bracebridge Fire Department, District of Muskoka EMS and OPP. Many of Santa’s elves and management at the Village, all added to this special tribute to Mary.
