The things we find inside and out of our home
With the dandelions finally going to seed, I was able to tend to a lawn that had been purposefully neglected as part of “No Mow May.”
Regular visitors and subscribers to this blog are in the know about the many wonderful creatures that visit our property.
Though there were also plenty of dragonflies getting their lunch on and keeping the pesky biting fliers away from me, I didn’t get a picture of any of them (next time, I promise).
Rather, it was when I was getting ready to put away lawn equipment when I found a rather odd looking caterpillar – like straight out of a sci fi flick – sitting on the handle of my weedwhacker, then another two climbing up my siding, and still another on our waste container. They were each trying to find a place to rest and cocoon.
After grabbing a few candid shots on my phone of those and heading inside, I found a bumblebee in my basement of all places. The cute little guy seemed lost and a tad bit out of sorts, so I grabbed a garden tool to help him out and then put him gently in the garden outside – but not before snapping a couple quick pics.
