He also has some insightful thoughts and offers solutions that would save a lot of time and money, while providing the necessary funds to properly staff the hospitals in both communities.

I’m a little late commenting here, but I want to thank you and Mr. Withey for this really informative, comprehensive interview. As someone who knows what goes on behind the scenes at Council, at the LHIN, and on the MAHC board, I’m so glad Mr. Withey was willing to share his ideas and opinions with us. As he stated, it’s so obvious that two brand new hospitals for Muskoka is a pipe dream, so why is MAHC refusing to reconsider the more pragmatic, cost-effective option of renovation? As you said, Chris, not only would that be affordable, but we could have better services and equipment faster. Not only that, having this whole mess finally settled would remove a major barrier that’s preventing physicians from wanting to set up their practices here. I agree with you, Chris, that we as a community need to speak up and clearly say that we don’t want two new hospitals. We can’t afford them. We don’t need them.
