Throughout September the annual tradition takes place in central Ontario communities
Ignoring the fact that July and August went by way too fast – with August feeling more like autumn than summer – but since it’s September, it’s that time for a full Fall Fair post to let you know the when and where’s of it all.
Just a note: we acknowledge missing a couple that took place nearby over Labour Day weekend.

Those wanting to jump right into Fall Fair season can do so on September 8 and 9 with the Orillia Fall Fair kicking things off at 5 p.m. on Friday and carrying on through the evening on Saturday. The event is being hosted by the Orillia District Agricultural Society at 4500 Fairgrounds Road in Severn, Ontario.
But, that’s not the only fair happening on September 9. The Wild, Wild West themed Severn Bridge Fall Fair also takes place on Saturday (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and features plenty of Western style fun for the whole family. Put on your cowboy hat and boots and head to the Severn Bridge Fairgrounds (1153 Southwood Road), midway between Gravenhurst and Orillia.
Also Saturday, in North Muskoka, the Stisted Agricultural Fair – “the small country fair with the big country heart” – takes place from 8 a.m. through the early evening at 38 Ashworth Rd, Huntsville. There will be plenty of family friendly, old-fashioned events such as potato sack races, tug-o-war, egg toss and others on tap. Plus, dressage exhibitions, livestock contests, and much more.

The Bracebridge Fall Fair & Horse Show is schedule to take place September 15 through September 17 at J.D. Lang Park (331 Fraserburg Road – just off Cedar Lane near Highway 11 and Taylor Rd.). There will be a midway, an old-fashioned square dance, English & Western horse shows, wagon rides, Birds of Prey, a lumberjack show, live music, a petting zoo, the Commonwealth Giant Vegetable weigh-off and so much more.
For a bit of a different pace, the 169th edition of the Oro World’s Fair runs from September 15 to 16 at the Oro-Medonte Fairgrounds (82-84 Sideroad 15 & 16 E, Oro Station). Events include a sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull Friday at 5 p.m. and a Demolition Derby Saturday at 3 p.m. plus cattle and hog shows, dog agility, live entertainment, and more.

The following weekend the Huntsville Fair Fair runs from Friday evening on September 22 through Sunday afternoon on September 24. Live music each night, a Gable Bros. Midway, plenty of vendors to get those fall fair munchies, a petting zoo, sheep herding, and much, much more is on tap. This one is so popular it attracts people from all throughout Muskoka and the surrounding areas – almost like a “Honey, I Shrunk the CNE” event.
