Fantastic experience for youth to rehearse and perform an outdoor play presented by HFA
Another edition of the Snow Queen Outdoor Play is on tap for this winter and if the reaction of last year’s participants is any indication, then the kids (and adults) taking part are sure to have fun.
Registration for youth ages 8 to 13 is open now. The kids will be part of creating and performing the famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
Juliet, age 11, was one of 2023’s participants and says it was a fantastic time.
“I really enjoyed it,” she says. “The best part was the weekly rehearsals, they were a lot of fun. Also, I got to do it with one of my best friends, Abbey.”

Those participating will work with local professional artists for 12 weeks to create all aspects of the performance including acting, costumes, music and performing with giant puppets.
The project will be led by local artists Christina Serra (theatre), Sarah Spring (music) and more.
Rehearsals will have a Monday group and Thursday group and run from November 6 to February 15th with a small break from December 14 to January 4 for the holiday season.
The performances will take place February 23 to 25, 2023. The audience will follow the action of the play to different outdoor spaces around downtown Huntsville.
